ISRAEL, BERITA MERDEKA Online – A total of 112 Gaza residents were killed and 760 others were injured while queuing for food aid as a result of brutal shelling by Israeli soldiers, Thursday (29/2/2024), according to the Palestinian authorities and eyewitnesses.
This was confirmed by local journalist Khader Al Za’anoun who was at the scene. He said many people had gathered waiting for food to be distributed from aid trucks. However, people immediately ran and panicked after Israel opened fire. As a result, many people also died because they were hit by trucks. This shooting was also confirmed by the Israeli side.
They said their troops shot at the crowd because they had threatened their troops. The Israeli side also denied the Palestinian Ministry of Health’s explanation.
“The (aid) trucks drove north, then there was an attack (on the trucks), and after that, there was an incident (a group of Gaza residents) fought against our troops. That’s what happened this Thursday morning,” said an Israeli spokesman, quoted CNN.
Due to this incident, the US State Department pressured Israel to conduct an investigation.
