KARAWANG | beritamerdekaonline.com The Karawang Branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Social Security Agency for Employment), in collaboration with the Warungbambu Village Government, held an Employee Volunteering event on Monday (June 29) to commemorate World Environment Day.

Carrying the theme “Planting Trees, Saving the Earth and the Future,” the activity served as a manifestation of their shared commitment to supporting environmental conservation through greening initiatives.

The event was attended by employees from the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Karawang Branch and officials from the Warungbambu Village administration. In addition to planting trees, the activity included the distribution of plants to local residents as a form of education and an invitation to collectively preserve the environment.

Cep Nandi Yunandar, Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Karawang Branch, stated that the Employee Volunteering activity is part of the institution’s social responsibility—demonstrating that it focuses not only on worker protection but also on making positive contributions to the environment and the community.

“During this event, we planted six trees and distributed 100 snake plants (Sansevieria) to residents as an effort to support greening initiatives and create a healthier environment,” he said.

He explained that the planting of trees and snake plants is expected to raise public awareness regarding the importance of maintaining environmental quality, while also encouraging the creation of greener and more pleasant surroundings.

“We hope this activity serves as a small step that yields a significant impact on environmental sustainability and inspires the community to continue participating in protecting the Earth for the sake of future generations,” he remarked.

He added that the entire Employee Volunteering program was carried out independently through the participation and collaborative spirit (gotong royong) of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Karawang Branch employees. This reflects the care and sense of togetherness among the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan workforce in supporting environmental conservation. “The entire funding for this activity came from the employees’ own contributions. This reflects our shared commitment to benefiting the environment and the community,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of Warungbambu Village, Mustakim, expressed his appreciation for the synergy established by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Karawang through this greening initiative in his area.

“We appreciate BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s concern for the environment. Hopefully, activities like this will continue and inspire others to join hands in preserving the environment,” he said.

Through this Employee Volunteering initiative, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Karawang reaffirms its commitment to fostering collaboration with various stakeholders to create a greener, healthier, and more sustainable environment for the community. (Kang yana/Red)
